Gaza City: At least 12 Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to Palestinian sources.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Israeli aircraft targeted a house behind Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Beit Lahia city in northern Gaza. Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that the raid resulted in the deaths of seven individuals and left several others wounded. Mahmoud Basal, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, confirmed these details to Xinhua.
Basal further reported that Israel conducted another airstrike later in the day in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. This attack killed three people and injured five others with varying degrees of injuries. Paramedics informed Xinhua that medical workers recovered two bodies of Palestinians from a gathering targeted by an Israeli drone attack in Khirbet al-Adas, north of Rafah city, in southern Gaza.
The Israeli army has not yet commented on these attacks. The
airstrikes are part of a large-scale offensive by Israel against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This offensive is a retaliation against a Hamas attack on the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and 250 hostages.
Gaza-based health authorities stated on Thursday that the Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza has risen to 44,580.
