Police continues exerting pressure on drug kingpins, three arrested
The Welkom Public Order Police Unit members have arrested yet again three alleged drug dealers selling nyaope in Qwaqwa and Harrismith, they seized more 1000 sachets of illicit drugs and undisclosed amount of cash and out three suspects behind bars.
On 13 July 2023, the team received information from community with regard to other person selling nyaope at Katlehong section of Namahadi Village in Qwaqwa. They followed up information which led them to positive arrest and seizure of 34 satchets of nyaope drugs. They arrested one suspects aged 25.
His arrest led the team again to Harrismith where they successfully arrested two suspects, woman (47) with 1200 sachets and man (36) with 98 sachets with nyaope drugs. Both suspects are expected to appear before the Harrismith Magistrate court on Friday, 14 July 2023 facing charges of dealing in drugs.
The 25-year-old man from Namahadi Village will appear the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate court today, 14 July 2023 on charge of dealing in drugs.
