iZola Launches Xaidi App for Special Needs Families in Kenya

Nairobi: iZola, a Kenyan biotech company, has introduced the Xaidi Application (App), a groundbreaking digital health assistant aimed at supporting parents and caregivers of children with special needs. This innovative app is designed to address the unique challenges faced by families of children living with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy.

According to Kenya News Agency, Mr. Philip Nzenge, who spoke at the launch event on Wednesday, the Xaidi App is a significant development in healthcare support for special needs families. He praised iZola for creating a tool that aligns with global efforts to build a barrier-free society for individuals with disabilities.

The Xaidi App, a product of a Kenyan-German collaboration, seeks to bridge communication gaps by offering multilingual support, including English and Swahili. Nzenge underscored the critical need to support children with developmental disabilities, a group he feels has been underserved historically.

Dr. Wamuyu Owotoki, Co-Founder and CEO of iZola, explained that the motivation behind Xaidi is to provide easily accessible resources for parents of special needs children. The app uses artificial intelligence to create a healthcare ecosystem that is responsive to the diverse needs of these families. Dr. Owotoki emphasized the app’s ability to provide instant feedback around the clock, offering a safe space for parents and caregivers to access tips, educational resources, and advice.

Highlighting the significance of the Xaidi App, Dr. Owotoki noted that it exemplifies the impact of collaboration, technology, and a commitment to inclusive healthcare. The app is seen as a symbol of progress and inclusivity, with the potential to transform the lives of millions globally. It underscores the importance of using technology innovatively to improve societal wellbeing.
