Captain Moussa Dadis Camara Recaptured and Returned to Prison in Guinea

Conakry, Guinea – In a recent turn of events, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, a key figure in the trial of the September 28, 2009, massacre, was recaptured and returned to prison following a dramatic escape attempt. This incident occurred in Conakry’s Coronthie central house in the commune of Kaloum, also involving detainees Blaise Gomou, Moussa Tiegboro Camara, and Claude Pivi.

According to Burkina Information Agency, The information regarding Captain Camara’s recapture was confirmed by his lawyer, Maître Antoine Pépé Lamah. Lamah stated, “By the grace of God, President Moussa Dadis Camara is safe and sound despite everything. Now he is at the central house in Conakry where he has been arbitrarily detained since September 27, 2022.” This development follows the escape attempt that took place on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
