PA of suspended Senior Ratlou municipality official arrested
A 27-year-old suspect will appear before Atamelang Magistrate’s Court on 02 May 2023 following his arrest by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation on 01 June 2023 in Delareyville, for alleged theft and defeating the ends of justice.
It is alleged that on 31 March 2023, the suspect stole tender documents and original invoices for a tender that is under investigation. This is allegedly following the investigator’s request for the documents in question.
The senior municipality official’s suspension allegedly relates to the tender whereby the tender documents were stolen. The tender forms part of an ongoing investigation by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Head for the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation – Major General Patrick Mbotho, welcomed the arrest and lauded the sterling work by the investigating officer.
