Deputy Minister of Transport and RSR Board to attend rolling stock inspection at the PRASA Wolmerton Maintenance Depot in Pretoria

Members of the media are hereby invited to join the Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Dikeledi Magadzi and the Board of Directors of the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) at a Rolling Stock Inspection at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) Wolmerton Maintenance Depot in Pretoria North, Gauteng.

The purpose of the inspection is to assess the condition of rolling stock against predetermined train predeparture criteria. This will help to make informed decisions on whether the rolling stock is roadworthy, investigate the robustness and efficiency of the procedures as applied by the operator for certifying their trains as ready for service and to verify adherence of personnel to set standards and procedures when performing these ready for service inspections.

Date: Wednesday, 09 June 2021

Time: 09:30 – 12:00

Venue: Wolmerton Depot, Pretoria North
