Egypt, Pakistan Agree To Boost Bilateral Ties

CAIRO, Mar 21 (NNN-MENA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, and his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, agreed in Islamabad yesterday, to boost bilateral ties between the two countries, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

Pakistan is the fourth stop of Shoukry’s Asian tour, starting on Mar 13, that also included Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.

During the talks, the two foreign ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation at all levels, and discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Shoukry also expressed Egypt’s appreciation of Pakistan’s hosting, of the upcoming 48th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s council of foreign ministers, that will be held in Islamabad from tomorrow, Mar 22-23.

Shoukry’s tour also sought to coordinate with Asian partners, for the upcoming 27th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), which is scheduled to be held in Nov this year, in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
