Government saddened by passing of former Deputy Minister Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi

Government is addened by the passing of National Freedom Party leader and the former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi.

She served as the Deputy Minister during 2014 and 2019. Ms KaMagwaza-Msibi was also a former school principal. She has occupied several senior administrative positions in municipal councils while also playing a leadership role in numerous community projects. She served as Branch Chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party in 1976 and later joined the executive committee of the IFP Youth and the Women’s Brigade. In 1995, she was the only woman on the executive board of the Nongoma Transitional Local Council.

Director General of GCIS, Phumla Williams said: “South Africa has truly lost a vibrant leader. She was a role model to the youth as she drove her passion to do good for the country early in her life. Our heartfelt condolences to her family and colleagues. May her soul rest in peace”.
