Zoundwogo: The Nabikinga of Gogo installed six neighborhood chiefs this Saturday, in an event aimed at strengthening social cohesion. The installation ceremony, held in the royal courtyard of Gogo under the blessing of Naaba Kiiba II, chief of the Manga canton, represented by the Randalgue Nabikinga, brought together traditional authorities, dignitaries, and members of the public who came to witness the event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the first phase of the ceremony was devoted to the customary greetings. Each candidate for chieftaincy, accompanied by relatives, friends, and supporters, came to pay homage to the Nabikinga and its notables.
The enthronements then began. For each district concerned, a notable from the Nabikinga presided over the designation of the chosen chief. Carried in triumph by his entourage amidst songs and dances, the new chief was led to the ritual hut where he officially received his title and revealed his regnal name.
The inducted leaders are: Baloum Naaba, Loneting Nabiiga, Ouidi Naaba, Komi Naaba, Malgr Naaba, and Tangs¨g Naaba.
At the end of the ceremony, the Nabikinga urged the new chiefs to work towards strengthening social cohesion, peace, and living together within the commune. He emphasized that these enthronements go far beyond their traditional significance. According to him, they constitute a true demonstration of the unity, solidarity, and perfect harmony that exist among the sons and daughters of Gogo.
'These enthronements testify to the vitality of our traditions and our ability to remain united around our cultural values. I wish each of the new chiefs a prosperous reign, marked by wisdom, justice, and respect for our customs,' said the Nabikinga of Gogo.
This ceremony has thus strengthened the ties between the different components of the community and reaffirmed the essential role of traditional leadership in preserving peace and social cohesion in Gogo.
