Zoundw©ogo: ONASER Mobilizes Regional Stakeholders for the Night of Road Safety Stakeholders and Partners

Zoundw©ogo: The National Road Safety Office (ONASER) met on Monday in Manga with regional authorities, transport stakeholders, and media professionals to mobilize them for the organization of the Night of Road Safety Stakeholders and Partners, an initiative aimed at rewarding the best actions in favor of traffic accident prevention and the promotion of road safety citizenship.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this meeting is part of a regional tour undertaken by ONASER to bring together the various stakeholders around this national event. The head of the road safety education department at ONASER, Lamoussa Ouango, stated that the approach aims primarily to organize, in each region, calls for projects designed to generate applications and identify citizen initiatives contributing to the improvement of road safety.

"The aim is to encourage good practices and to highlight the people, associations or structures that work daily to prevent accidents and promote responsible behavior on our roads," he explained. Addressing the practical organization, Mr. Ouango indicated that ONASER intends to mobilize the Defense and Security Forces, the technical services in charge of transport and mobility, as well as the media, in order to ensure the launch, monitoring, and selection of the best projects at the regional level.

The winners selected in each region will be recognized at the Road Safety Stakeholders and Partners Night, the date of which will be announced later. They will receive awards and be named road safety ambassadors. The head of ONASER finally stressed the role of the media in the success of the initiative, believing that their mission is "to inform, raise awareness and promote good practices in road safety".
