Zoundw©ogo: A team from the provincial directorate of preschool, primary and non-formal education of the province of Zoundw©ogo, led by its first manager, Yves Placide Nana, paid tribute, Wednesday, to retired teacher G©rard Yerbanga, at his home, located in Manga, during a courtesy visit organized as part of the activities of the Student Recognition Week (SRE).



According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit aimed to honor G©rard Yerbanga for his significant contributions to education over a career spanning more than three decades. Yves Placide Nana emphasized the importance of this visit, stating it was part of the inaugural Student Teacher Recognition Week (SRE) activities. Nana highlighted Yerbanga’s accessibility and dedication to supporting educational efforts as key qualities that continue to benefit the community.



G©rard Yerbanga expressed his gratitude for the recognition and the tribute paid by the provincial leadership team. He commended the government’s initiative to establish the Student Teacher Recognition Week, noting that such acknowledgment reassures teachers that their hard work is appreciated.



Yerbanga also expressed appreciation for the efforts of current young leaders who are promoting traditional social values and recognizing the role of teachers. He likened teachers to a source, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging their contributions.



During the visit, the delegation presented Yerbanga with a symbolic gift and offered prayers for his health and well-being. G©rard Yerbanga, who began his teaching career in 1964, has been retired since 2000.
