Zoundweogo: Members of the Nobere community watch group have provided a generous donation of 200 kg of food to the Nobere 'B' public primary school as part of the 'D?m? Sira' presidential initiative. The initiative is focused on strengthening community solidarity and supporting educational institutions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, which includes five bags of rice and beans, was officially handed over to the school director, Piouhiri Azoukoga, with the presence of School Council members. This support is seen as vital by the school's headmaster, who believes it will enhance academic performance by reducing students' need to leave school during lunch breaks.
"This is a patriotic gesture that challenges our students on the need to dedicate themselves to work and cultivate responsible behavior," remarked Mr. Piouhiri, expressing gratitude to the donors.
The community watch group also took the opportunity to conduct an awareness session for younger students, focusing on discipline, patriotism, and the dangers of leaving school for work at gold mining sites.
Saiba Bonkoungou, president of the student watch group, encouraged students to strive for excellence and perseverance, promising special prizes for top students at the end of the academic year.
The students expressed their appreciation for the donation, committing to do their best in their studies.
