ZORGHOU – The District of Basic Education (CEB) of Zorgho celebrated the conclusion of its sports and cultural season with a two-day event that began on May 10, 2024, at the Kambambori ‘A’ school. The event featured a variety of athletic and cultural competitions, drawing participation from several local schools.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the representative of the Head of the basic education district of Zorgho, the festivities kicked off with athletic competitions including sprint running and long jump, followed by a modern ballet contest. Schools such as Amitié ‘A’, Bouglem, Kambambori ‘A’, and Sapaga ‘B’ showcased their talents in these cultural and sporting events.
Kambambori ‘A’ school won first place in the modern ballet competition, with Bouglem, Amitié ‘A’, and Sapaga ‘B’ securing the second, third, and fourth places respectively. The jury noted an overall improvement in the quality of the competition over the previous year, though they also pointed out areas needing enhancement in the performances.
A highlight of the day was a fair that featured local dishes and products, attracting a large number of attendees. The event will conclude on May 11, 2024, with a football final at the Zorgho sports stadium, ending the season on a high note.
