Zorgho Celebrates Primary School Excellence with First Municipal Day of Excellence

ZORGHO, Ganzourgou — The commune of Zorgho recently held its inaugural Municipal Day of Excellence for primary schools. This event, aimed at celebrating educational achievements, was organized by the Municipal Coordination of School Management Committees (CCC) of Zorgho and took place under the patronage of the special advisor to the President of Faso, Mr. Isidore Tiemtoré, and co-sponsorship of Mr. Luc Noundia Kaboré, the program manager of the NGO Living Goods for Burkina.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was a resounding success, acknowledging the top students, teachers, and schools within the community. Prizes included 10 bicycles, school kits, and cash bonuses. The top five girls and boys from the commune’s CEP were each awarded a bicycle, school kit, and 5,000 F CFA. Additionally, the best-performing girl received an extra 10,000 F CFA and a scholarship of 25,000 F CFA. Teachers and schools were also recognized, with the five best teachers receiving 15,000 CFA francs each and the top schools getting 20,000 CFA francs each.

The highlight of the event was the performance of Kaboré W. Ornella, who achieved an average score of 9.47 out of 10 and was named the best girl student. She expressed gratitude towards her supporters, especially her teachers and parents. The organizing committee’s president, Toukoumnogo Kaboré, expressed his appreciation for the sponsors and the community’s support, and looked forward to future editions of the event.

Raogo Jean Claude Ouédraogo, the Head of the Basic Education District of Zorgho, praised the initiative for its positive impact on local education standards. He credited the CCC for their role in organizing a municipal mock exam that contributed to a success rate of 83.28% in the Certificate of Primary Studies (CEP). He urged all involved to continue their hard work and dedication to education.

The event’s sponsor, Mr. Isidore Tiemtoré, emphasized the importance of striving for excellence not only in education but in all areas of life. He praised the initiative for promoting quality education and encouraged all stakeholders to keep up their efforts. Valentin Badolo, president of the ceremony, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of recognizing and rewarding the efforts and achievements of teachers and students alike.

Luc Noundia Kaboré, co-sponsor of the event, also voiced his support for the initiative, noting that it serves as a motivational tool for the children and a benchmark for future educational efforts. He stressed the importance of continuous improvement to achieve even greater results in the coming years.

This significant first edition of the Communal Day of Excellence has set a precedent for the recognition and promotion of educational excellence in Zorgho and is expected to inspire similar initiatives across the Ganzourgou province in the future.
