Zondoma Sees Decrease in CEP Exam Registrations for 2025

Zondoma: The official launch of the Primary School Certificate (CEP) exam and the 6th grade entrance exam was held at Tanglonghin school in Gourcy. The event, which took place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, was inaugurated by the Secretary General of Zondoma province, Anatole Pengwend© Kabor©. He was joined by Karim Sawadogo, the Provincial Director in charge of education in Zondoma, along with other stakeholders involved in organizing the exams.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the number of registered candidates for the CEP exam this year stands at 3,968, slightly down from 4,098 in 2024. Of these, 3,830 candidates, including 2,199 girls and 1,631 boys, were present for the exam. The decline in candidate registration is attributed to the return of many students to their villages, who were previously in the province as internally displaced persons, and the high success rate of 87.08% in 2024, which reduced the number of repeaters.

During the launch, Anatole Pengwend© Kabor© and Karim Sawadogo, before opening the first envelope containing the essay test, offered guidance to the candidates, most of whom were sitting for the exam for the first time. Concurrently, the official launch of the Brevet d’Etudes du Premier Cycle (BEPC) 2025 session was conducted at the Municipal High School of Gourcy.
