Zondoma High Commissioner Calls for Unity During Burkinabe Heritage Month

Zondoma: The traditional raising of the colors occurred on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the headquarters of the Rural World Association in Gourcy. On this occasion, High Commissioner Aboubacar Sidiki Nab© called for mobilization for Burkinabe Heritage Month, whose activities are currently underway.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of Zondoma Province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©, presided over the flag-raising ceremony, which was attended by key figures from the province. In his message, the province’s top official expressed appreciation for the day’s mobilization, viewing it as a reflection of the sustained patriotic commitment among participants.

He addressed recent national events characterized by demonstrations of support for the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, urging all active forces to “close ranks to support the authorities committed to the path of popular and progressive revolution.”

The ceremony also marked the launch of the third edition of Burkinabe Heritage Month, running from April 18 to May 18, 2025, across the country. This year’s theme, “Cultural Heritage and Economic Development,” encourages engagement with cultural and economic activities.

During the event, the High Commissioner read a speech from the President of Faso concerning the launch of this initiative. He encouraged attendees to take advantage of this opportunity to visit the province’s tourist sites, such as the blast furnaces of Kindibo, the Birigui Julien Ou©draogo museum, the Naba Yadega mausoleum, and the Naaba Baongo grove.

Concluding his remarks, the High Commissioner commended stakeholders of the Gourcy2 Basic Education District (CEB), whose students raised 545,325 CFA francs to support the town’s fighting forces. He urged others to follow this example by continuing their contributions to the peace effort, while acknowledging the resilience and security efforts of the FDS and VDP in the province.
