Zondoma Education Awards Recognize 55 Deserving Stakeholders

Zondoma: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Zondoma recognized its stakeholders, who distinguished themselves through their academic achievements. This took place during a ceremony held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Gourcy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, bicycles, school kits, cash, office supplies, letters of congratulations, and other rewards were distributed to Zondoma education stakeholders during the event. The ceremony was more than an award distribution; it was a formal acknowledgment of the hard work and commitment of students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders dedicated to enhancing the educational future of the younger generation, as stated by Karim Sawadogo, the Provincial Director of Education in Zondoma.

Sawadogo noted that the commitment of these stakeholders has led to commendable results at the regional level, including an unprecedented 87.80% success rate in the 2024 CEP session. The province also celebrated the achievement of Abdoul Gafarou Ou©draogo from Niessega "A" school, who became the top student at the regional level with a score of 159.5 out of 170. In total, 55 awards were given to outstanding schools, teachers, and students, with the CEB of Gourcy2 receiving the prize for the best Basic Education District due to its 90.22% success rate.

The ceremony also honored the best teachers, Th©ophile Balma and Alice Ou©draogo, from the CEB in Gourcy2. High Commissioner Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©, who presided over the event, emphasized the need to commend both the deserving stakeholders and the senior education officials for organizing the day of excellence despite limited financial resources.

In a tangible demonstration of appreciation, the province's top official awarded a letter of congratulations to teacher Az¨ta Ganam©/Koiba, the recipient of the 2024 National "Craie d'Or Awards". The ceremony was attended by key figures including Northern Regional Director of Education Pascal Waongo, ALT MP Youssouf Ou©draogo, and Presidency of Faso mission officer Sanata Ou©draogo, all of whom expressed their support for promoting excellence in primary education.
