Ziro Women March for Peace and Community Entrepreneurship

ZIRO – On International Women’s Day, March 8, 2024, women’s organizations in Ziro province gathered at the Sapouy high commission to advocate for peace and the promotion of community entrepreneurship. The event, marked by a week of activities including sanitation efforts, visits to the sick, a cycling race, panel discussions, and a commemorative ceremony, underscored the critical role of women in public affairs and community development.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the establishment of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) represents a significant opportunity for women’s economic empowerment.



The celebration attracted significant attention in Sapouy, featuring speeches, award ceremonies for cyclists, parades, and exhibitions of processed products. High Commissioner Saïba Zoromé praised the resilience of Ziro’s women and highlighted the socio-economic and cultural challenges hindering their progress. He called for decisive action to enhance well-being and foster a prosperous, inclusive society, reinforcing the event’s theme of women’s contribution to community entrepreneurship and national restoration.
