Ziro Province Reports Positive Food Security Indicators Following Agricultural Review

SAPOUY — During their first ordinary session on Thursday, the technical committee of the Ziro provincial food security council convened to assess the region’s agricultural and pastoral outputs. The meeting, chaired by Souro Sanou, the provincial director of agriculture, animal, and fisheries resources, resulted in a positive evaluation of the current food security situation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the committee reviewed various aspects including the ongoing agricultural campaigns, the food status of households, and measures in place to aid internally displaced persons (IDPs) and malnourished children within the province. The outcomes reflected a generally satisfactory state of food security, an assessment confirmed by experts from agriculture, health, social action, the environment, and development partners.

The discussions emphasized not only the present agricultural yields but also focused on continuous support strategies for the vulnerable populations, including IDPs and children facing malnutrition, ensuring comprehensive food stability in Ziro.
