Ziniar©: CERFI and AEEMB Announce the 18th Edition of Their Islamic Summer Camp

Ziniar©: The management of the 18th edition of the Islamic summer camp in Bassitenga held a press conference on Tuesday at the headquarters of CERFI Bassitenga, to announce the official launch of the activities of this edition placed under the theme "The Muslim child and African traditions".

According to Burkina Information Agency, the camp, organized jointly by the Association of Muslim Students of Burkina Faso (AEEMB) and the Circle for Islamic Study, Research and Training (CERFI), will take place from July 11 to 25, 2026, at the Loumbila departmental high school. It is open to children aged 7 to 16.

The deputy director of the colony, Wala Kebr©, explained that the initiative, which has existed for more than three decades, provides children with opportunities for learning, leisure, and training centered around values such as faith, discipline, solidarity, responsibility, and living together.

The organizers chose this year's theme in response to the impact of social media and new media on children, aiming to emphasize the importance of African values like respect for elders, solidarity, mutual support, and community life. The objective is to highlight the compatibility between African traditions and Islamic teachings, fostering a sense of pride in faith, identity, and culture among children.

Issouf Ou©draogo, one of the organizers, stated that the camp would focus on instilling African values and Islamic moral teachings in children. Participants will engage in religious, educational, cultural, sporting, and recreational activities within a secure environment, supervised by qualified staff.

Addressing Muslim parents, deputy director Wala Kebr© expressed gratitude for their continued trust in the Islamic colony of Bassitenga and encouraged them to uphold this trust for the 18th edition.
