Kaya: The cantons of Ziniar© and Sanmatenga took a significant step in strengthening the cohesion between the descendants of the Naaba Oubri lineage as His Excellency Naaba Koom, Chief of the Sanmatenga canton, hosted his counterpart from Ziniar© on April 27, 2025. The gathering, held at Naaba Koom’s palace in sector 3 of Kaya, marked a pivotal moment in reinforcing the kinship ties between the two communities.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation from Ziniar©, led by Naaba Sanem, was welcomed to Kaya amidst popular jubilation. The delegation included ministers, land chiefs, administrative authorities, and cultural representatives. They were joined by a delegation from the Pissila canton and religious community leaders, underlining the significance of the event.



Naaba Sanem, grandson of Naaba Namend© of Boulsa and Naaba Oubri, highlighted the historical importance of the visit, which aims to revive the kinship ties of the Naaba Oubri lineage. The regional director in charge of culture for the Centre-Nord, Ms. Oubda/Sorgho Safiata, expressed her support for this initiative, noting that it would further strengthen the bonds between the two cantons.



The 24-hour visit included presentations of allegiance, gift exchanges, cultural activities, and a community meal. Naaba Sanem recounted the history of Naaba Oubri, founder of the Oubritenga kingdom, and his descendants. This narrative emphasized the deep-rooted connections between the communities of Sanmatenga and Ziniar©.



Naaba Koom expressed his delight at the historic nature of the visit, emphasizing its role in fostering solidarity and fraternity amidst insecurity and social crisis. Both leaders urged the communities of Sanmatenga and Oubritenga to regard each other as family, aiming to strengthen cohesion in the fight against terrorism.



The leaders also announced their intention to unify the cantons of the Naaba Oubri lineage into a federation, reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood among future generations.
