Luanda: The Zambian national team arrived in the country on Sunday night for a friendly match against Angola on Tuesday at 5 pm at the 11 de Novembro stadium in Luanda, during the last FIFA international break of the year. According to Angola Press News Agency, the communications director of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), Eric Gonçalves, mentioned that the Zambian delegation is staying at the HCTA hotel. Although the size of the delegation was not specified, Gonçalves noted that, unlike the usual practice of inspecting the national stadium at the time of the match (5 pm), Zambia requested to do so at 10:30 am on Monday. The pre-match press conference will take place at 1 pm at the HCTA hotel. This match is part of the national team's preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), to be played from December of this year to January 2026 in the Kingdom of Morocco. In their last friendly encounter, the "Palancas Negras" (Angola's national team) defeated the "Chipolopolos" (Zambian national team) 2 -0 on January 5, 2013. Angola recently lost to Argentina 0-2, with goals from Lautaro Martínez and Lionel Messi, in a friendly match played during the FIFA international break as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.
