Zambian Ambassador Praises Relationship with Namibia.

Windhoek: Zambian High Commissioner Stephen Katuka on Saturday praised the excellent and friendly relations that persist between his country and Namibia. He emphasized the shared history, culture, and values that unite the southern African neighbours in their pursuit of peace and prosperity, during the celebration of Zambia's 60th independence anniversary. According to Namibia Press Agency, Katuka expressed confidence that the mutual commitment to peace, security, and prosperity will help address contemporary challenges such as climate change, sustainable development, and global health. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in creating a better world for future generations. The Zambian diplomat also extended his well wishes to Namibia for its upcoming elections, scheduled for 27 November 2024, expressing hope for a peaceful electoral process. Katuka's remarks came as part of a broader message of unity and cooperation between the two nations. Emma Kantema-Gaomas, Namibia's Deputy Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service, was the guest of honour at the independence celebration. She reiterated Namibia's dedication to enhancing the strong bonds of solidarity and cooperation with Zambia. Kantema-Gaomas pointed out the significant progress in political and economic ties between the two countries. She highlighted the signing of the one-stop border post at Katima Mulilo as a critical development, facilitating trade and boosting economic growth along the Trans-Kalahari Corridor by ensuring smooth transport of goods and movement of people.
