Windhoek: A fatal road accident and a housebreaking incident were among the cases reported in Windhoek this weekend, according to a weekend crime report issued by the Namibian Police. Confirming the incidents to Nampa on Sunday, NamPol spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said in the incident which took place on Friday around 15h30, a four-tonne truck collided with a motorcycle on Robert Mugabe Road, resulting in a fatal crash.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the motorcyclist, identified as 26-year-old Romario Tony Pienaar, died at the scene after the motorcycle hit several stationary vehicles following the crash. The deceased’s next of kin are informed, and investigations are ongoing.
In the other incident, suspects broke into a residence at Landscape Court, Kahimemua Nguvauva Street, around 17h00 on Friday. The suspects reportedly forced open a door, entered the house, tied up two Chinese nationals, and stole items valued at N.dollars 241 900.
