Windhoek: Young African Football Club (FC) manager Maleagi Ngarizemo anticipates a challenging weekend as his team prepares to face African Stars FC and Khomas NamPol FC in crucial premier league fixtures. The Omaheke Region's only premier league team, based in Gobabis, is set to confront the reigning champions, African Stars, on Saturday at 17:00 at Independence Stadium, followed by a match against Khomas NamPol on Sunday at 14:30 at the same venue. According to Namibia Press Agency, Ngarizemo acknowledged the formidable nature of the upcoming matches, describing the opponents as "very difficult" and emphasizing the necessity of securing points. He noted the fierce competition among all clubs, with teams closely packed on the league table, making every point vital in the battle to avoid the lower ranks. Ngarizemo shared that Young African FC, affectionately known as 'Yangile', has bolstered its squad with five new signings, expressing confidence in their potential contributions. However, he admitted that t he team's preparations have been hindered by challenges in accessing practice fields, a major obstacle since their relocation to Windhoek. Despite these hurdles, Ngarizemo vowed that the team would strive to achieve its objectives, likening the players to "soldiers" committed to extracting positive outcomes from the matches. He also urged supporters to attend the games in large numbers, emphasizing their role as the "13th player" on the field. In the current league standings, Young African occupies the ninth position with 16 points from 12 games, while African Stars are in third place with 23 points from 13 matches, and Khomas NamPol is in 13th place with 13 points from 13 games played.
