Yevedougou: The Yevedougou public primary school observed the traditional raising of the colors on Monday, November 17, 2025, under the theme of solidarity. An opportunity to "sow the seeds of solidarity" and living together was emphasized in the school environment.
According to Burkina Information Agency, students and teachers gathered in the courtyard of the Yevedougou public primary school to raise the national flag while singing the national anthem, the ditanye. After the ceremony, the school director, Inoussa Ima, indicated that this day aims to cultivate the essential values for the development of mutual support in the school environment.
"By sowing the seed of solidarity, we want to encourage students to imitate this example and to respect and cultivate solidarity with one another," he said. Inoussa Ima stated that a united school prepares a more peaceful and stronger society, guaranteeing progress and development.
In the same vein, the director praised the involvement of the parents and the efforts made by the teachers to maintain a climate conducive to education. An educational talk was led by the teachers on respecting national symbols. The theme of this ceremony, "Deme Sira" (solidarity in the national Dioula language), is important in school life and beyond, in everyday life.
For Drissa, a student in the CM1 class, "when there is solidarity among us, no one is left out, we can help each other solve problems." The teachers unanimously reiterated that solidarity is an essential pillar for improving school learning and indeed within the family, the village and throughout Burkina Faso as a whole.
To that end, it is incumbent upon the community to take care of it as a cardinal value of the society in which we live. "May this day inspire each of us to take concrete acts of solidarity, in order to make the village of Yevedougou a community united around its children," Mr. Ima said.
As a reminder, the Yevedougou public primary school is a relocated school in Bomborokuy.
