Boulgou/zons©: Yergoya B school wins the OSCEP 2026 trophy: The Zons© Basic Education District (CEB) marked the conclusion of the 2026 Primary School Sports, Culture and Leisure Organization (OSCEP) on Saturday with a ceremony featuring cultural performances, a closely contested football final, and prize distributions. The event celebrated Yergoya B school as the champion of this edition.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the festivities commenced at 2 p.m. with an official closing ceremony presided over by the prefect of the department of Zons©. Tobour© Yigo, Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), expressed satisfaction with the event’s execution despite limited resources. He acknowledged the resilience, commitment, and solidarity of all involved stakeholders.
Under the theme “Sport and culture in primary school: levers of solidarity and living together in a context of security challenges”, the event engaged 31 football teams, 24 handball teams, 36 athletes, and over fifteen schools in cultural activities. The CCEB’s speech was followed by a traditional dance performance and an address by Wendinmi Fr©d©ri Ou©draogo, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Zons© municipality. Ou©draogo highlighted the theme’s relevance and encouraged students to embrace discipline, solidarity, and social cohesion.
The department prefect emphasized the need for greater solidarity, social cohesion, and peace amid current security challenges. He noted that sports cultivate qualities such as fair play, perseverance, teamwork, and mutual respect, while culture enhances local heritage appreciation and cultural identity.
The day’s highlight was the football final between Yergoya B school and Zons© A school. Yergoya B emerged victorious with a score of two goals to one, earning the OSCEP 2026 championship trophy.
The ceremony featured a performance by artist EL MILOSS, warmly received by attendees. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes, trophies, and certificates to standout teams and participants.
The OSCEP 2026 edition was patronized by Jean Bruce Sango and co-patronized by Drissa Bans©, with His Majesty Naaba Sougouri, traditional chief of Sangounazila, as the guest of honor. Attendees included representatives from the Regional and Provincial Directorates of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education, customary authorities, teachers, students, parents, and various guests.
Through this 2026 edition, the CEB of Zons© reaffirms its commitment to promoting sport and culture as pillars of education, social cohesion, and community living within the educational framework.
