Ouagadougou: The head of the Cameroonian delegation for the Yennenga Women's Tour, Judith Laure KengnE, expressed on Sunday that the event highlights Africa's progress in infrastructure, especially road infrastructure, during her visit to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, KengnE emphasized the quality of the roads in Burkina Faso, which contributed to the success of the first edition of the Yennenga International Women's Tour. She noted that the cyclists, including the Indomitable Lionesses from Cameroon, experienced minimal issues such as punctures, indicating the positive state of the infrastructure.
KengnE expressed optimism for the future, stating that the second edition of the tour would bring more experience and benefit African sports as a whole. Despite not winning any stages, the Cameroonian team, composed of young and inexperienced riders, found satisfaction in their participation due to the warm welcome and smooth organization.
The Yennenga International Women's Tour, held from April 14th to 19th, saw participation from teams representing Cameroon, Burundi, Mali, Nigeria, and host country Burkina Faso.
