Burkinabè newspapers discuss on their front pages the recommendations of the 5th edition of the West African Mining Activities Week (SAMAO), without forgetting the first anniversary of the Patriotic Movement for Safeguarding and Restoration (MPSR II) led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré .

The dean of Burkina Faso’s private daily newspapers, L’Observateur Paalga, highlights on its front page the words of the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traore, who states that “there is not this part of Burkina where we do not we can’t set foot.’

The newspaper reports that the Head of State, Captain Traoré, granted an interview to Burkinabè journalists, broadcast on national television, on Friday September 29, 2023, on the eve of Year I of MSPR II.

Evoking this outing by President Traoré, the newspaper Le Quotidien displays this exclamatory headline on its headline: ‘AN I of MPSR II: Maintaining the course in the fight against terrorism! “.

The same private daily mentions the march-meetings on the occasion of
this anniversary, reading: ‘Burkinabe people for a new constitution’.

In this regard, the national daily Sidwaya confirms that during various demonstrations across the country, demonstrators demanded the adoption of a new Constitution.

According to Sidwaya, Burkinabè people marched, among others, in Kaya (Central-North), in Manga (Central-South), in Ouahigouya (North), in Koudougou (Central-West) to show their solidarity with Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Le Pays, another private newspaper, maintains that the populations of Dédougou (Boucle du Mouhoun) also organized on Friday September 29, 2023, a march-meeting in their locality to support the political transition underway in Burkina Faso.

For its part, the private daily published in Bobo-Dioulasso, L’Express du Faso, through its section ”Autant le dire”, points out that “after one of Transition, the hardest part begins”.

Under another aspect, the same Sidwaya newspaper headlines: ‘SAMAO 2023: Recommendations for an attractive mining sector’.

The newspaper
informs that the 5th edition of the West African Mining Activities Week (SAMAO) closed its doors on Friday October 29, 2023 in Ouagadougou with around ten recommendations and resolutions.

According to him, this involves, among other things, strengthening the support of societies for securing the territory, and the creation of socio-economic infrastructures.

For the national daily, the emphasis will also be placed on the creation of a guarantee fund to support subcontracting, support for local initiatives to secure mining sites, on the application of texts linked to exploitation artisanal, etc.

Le Pays rightly summarizes it with the title: ‘SAMAO 2023: Recommendations to improve the impact of mining on local economies’.
