Year 9 Class Triumphs in ‘I Love CETFP/NZ-K’ Tournament Final

Koup©la: The final of the 5th edition of the "I Love CETFP/NZ-K" tournament took place this Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Naaba Zanr© Technical and Vocational Training College in Koup©la (CETFP/NZ-K). Students, supervisors, and guests rallied around the tournament, an event that has become a highlight of the school's calendar.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on the pitch, the Year 7 and Year 9 classes put on a spirited and intense display. During two 25-minute periods, the players created numerous opportunities, spurred on by enthusiastic support from the crowd. But despite attempts from both sides, the nets remained silent, maintaining the suspense until the end.

The fate of the match was ultimately decided during the penalty shootout. In a silence mixed with tension and hope, the 3rd grade class managed to keep their composure, winning by 4 successful shots against 2 against the 5th grade class.

For the school's director, Lucie Compaor©/Yarbanga, this tournament goes far beyond a simple sporting competition. "It's a way to bring our students together, develop their team spirit and promote technical education in our province," she said, visibly pleased with the turnout.

The same sentiment was echoed by the provincial director of Secondary Education, Dieudonn© Belemssigri, who praised the initiative as promising. He encouraged the students to persevere and the staff to continue these actions which contribute to the development of young people.

Rewarded for their efforts, the winning team left with a set of jerseys, a ball, an envelope containing 20,000 CFA francs and the trophy. The ceremony ended in a friendly atmosphere, marked by the presentation of special prizes, school supplies to the most brilliant students, as well as certificates of recognition.

Local authorities, teachers, and guests supported this wonderful initiative, proving that sport and culture remain powerful vectors of cohesion and hope for young people.
