Yatenga: The Ouahigouya health district, in collaboration with the National Federation of Naam Groups (FNGN) and the NGO Help, organized a training workshop in war surgery from November 5 to 8, 2024, in Ouahigouya. The objective was to strengthen the skills of health workers in the surgical field.

According to Burkina Information Agency, caring for war wounded requires specific surgical knowledge. The Ouahigouya health district, in partnership with the NGO Help, organized this training workshop for health workers in the commune of Ouahigouya. This session aimed to improve the participants’ skills in war surgery.

For the chief physician of the Ouahigouya health district, Dr. Issa Traoré, “with the security crisis, we are constantly receiving injured people, and their care requires more knowledge. This training will strengthen the skills of the agents and enable them to respond effectively to current emergencies. We invite participants to give the best of themselves to achieve the expected results.”

This ini
tiative was unanimously welcomed by the participants. “The training is welcome, because it allowed us to understand a lot about war surgery. We thank the organizers as well as their technical and financial partners for this initiative. We hope that this type of training will be multiplied and extended to other localities in the region,” said participant Dr. Affissatou Ouangrawa.
