Yatenga: The village of Sissamba emerged victorious in the grand final of the 6th edition of the AJUDES Super Cup, held at the Noufou Ou©draogo stadium on Sunday, August 2. They defeated the team from Sector 5 of Ouahigouya with a score of 1-0, as observed by AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the match showcased a fierce contest between the Sissamba team and their rivals from Sector 5 of Ouahigouya. Lasting 60 minutes, the game was marked by fair play and talent, with Sissamba ultimately securing the win with the sole goal of the match.
The competition, as stated by its promoter Wendpanga Ou©draogo, aimed to allow young people to test their skills against one another. "We mobilized 4 sectors of the city of Ouahigouya and 4 villages in the commune of Ouahigouya. Our initiative aims to promote social cohesion, living together, and to support the actions of the President of Burkina Faso," Ou©draogo explained.
Sayouba Sawadogo, captain of the Sissamba team, expressed his satisfaction with the victory. "We are very pleased with this initiative. We encourage young people to support the organizer for the success of future editions of this Cup, which brings together the youth of the Ouahigouya district," he remarked.
The final was presided over by Pierre Claver Banc©, the High Commissioner of Yatenga Province. He highlighted the significance of football as a factor in promoting social cohesion. "We are truly satisfied. We congratulate the promoter who kept all his promises. The whole of Yatenga has won," stated Banc©.
