Ouahigouya: The Tougou Man©gr© Association (ATM) offered food and non-food items to the resettled populations of Tougou, a village in the commune of Namissiguima, during a ceremony held in Ouahigouya in the presence of important government officials.
According to Burkina Information Agency, members of the ATM office organized a ceremony to distribute food consisting of corn and rice to several households, as well as equipment intended for the CSPS in Tougou. This initiative was aimed at supporting the resilient people of a village with about 13,200 inhabitants.
The event, under the patronage of the commander of the 2nd military region, Colonel Lassan© Porgo, had the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso, Zakaria Sor©, and the Head of Mission at the Presidency of Faso, Inoussa Ou©draogo, as guests of honor. The ceremony was attended by administrative and customary authorities of the Yatenga province and featured performances, speeches, and the symbolic handing over of food to beneficiaries.
The chairman of the organizing committee, Abdoul Savadogo, credited the activity to the mobilization of the village's sons and daughters and nationals from the diaspora. They raised 40 million CFA francs, enabling the purchase of 150 tons of food, medicines, and cleaning products for the CSPS.
Mahamoudou Issoufi Maga, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Namissiguima, praised ATM's efforts, emphasizing the spirit of solidarity within the village. The Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso, Zakaria Sor©, thanked the President of Faso and the Government for their efforts in the resettlement process and urged continued resilience and solidarity among the people of Tougou.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support. Ms. Zalissa, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the association and its contributors, wishing blessings upon their actions and more resources for continued support.
The ceremony concluded with the High Commissioner of Yatenga handing over the donation to the Prefect, President of the Special Delegation of Namissiguima, for distribution to the targeted households.
