Fada n'gourma: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Yamba, Issa Napon, presided over the accountability day for the 2024 fiscal year of the Yamba municipality on October 28, 2025, in Fada N'Gourma. The meeting brought together representatives from technical services, civil society organizations, traditional and religious authorities, as well as members of the public.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the report presented indicated that the community's own resources were projected at 11,692,960 CFA francs. Of this amount, 7,223,075 CFA francs were actually mobilized, representing a recovery rate of 61.77%. Revenue collection was primarily based on impoundment fees, the sale of impounded animals, and taxes related to civil status. The municipality's projects were financed both by its own resources and by resources transferred before their suspension. Out of an overall forecast of 328,615,582 CFA francs, 289,379,026 CFA francs were invested in the sectors of health, education, water and sanitation, local governance, and institutional support, representing an achievement rate of 86.53%. Regarding expenditure, 117,845,220 CFA francs were committed, for an execution rate of 35.86%.
The president of the special delegation of the commune of Yamba expressed satisfaction with the level of execution of the 2024 investment plan, despite a security context that hampered some activities and the mobilization of tax revenues. He stated that the accountability day allows people to follow the management of their community and strengthens transparency. Among the recommendations, participants suggested organizing the next admissibility day in Yamba with broader mobilization. They also called for improved tax revenues through increased citizen participation and the implementation of educational excellence initiatives to boost education. A five-member monitoring committee has been set up to support the implementation of these actions.
Mr. Napon emphasized that the municipality has been severely affected by insecurity but assured that calm is gradually returning, thanks to the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). Looking ahead, the municipality hopes for the return of certain partners who suspended their interventions based on information deemed unfounded. The return of internally displaced persons and all technical services is also expected.
Issoufou Lompo, a resource person, praised the quality of the work done by the special delegation of Yamba despite the adversity. He expressed satisfaction but requested more state resources transferred to local communities to strengthen health and education. He also advocated for the next accountability day to be held in Yamba, with broader participation. This eligibility session benefited from the financial support of the citizenship laboratory.
