Yaadga: Minister Edasso Bayala Lays the Groundwork for Resolving Social Disputes

Yaadga: As part of the implementation of the operationalization of the law relating to traditional justice "Faso-Bukaore", the Minister in charge of Justice Edasso Rodrigue Bayala was received in audience on Monday by His Majesty Naaba Kiiba King of Yatenga, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the royal palace of Yatenga served as the setting for this meeting between the Minister in charge of justice and the King of Yatenga for discussions on the operationalization of the law on customary chieftaincy and that governing traditional justice. "We are here this morning to pay our respects to His Majesty Naaba Kiiba, to provide information on the Faso-bukaore law which aims to be an endogenous mechanism for resolving disputes in our communities, according to their particularities," said Minister Bayala.

Naaba Kiiba, on behalf of the notables of Yatenga, thanked the minister and his delegation for the visit and promised to commit himself by mobilizing all the chiefs for the implementation of the law in Yatenga. Minister Bayala, during discussions with the traditional chiefs of the territorial jurisdiction of Naaba Kiiba, who were present at the meeting, explained the spirit of the law adopted in January 2026. Several concerns related to the operationalization of the law on the ground were raised by the "Toogo Naaba" on behalf of the traditional chiefs.

"We will return in April for a 3-day meeting with all the actors who drive modern justice and customary and traditional leaders for a better understanding of the law and how it works," said Minister Bayala. Today's meeting was attended by Yaadga Governor Thomas Yampa, Ouahigouya High Court President Richard Lankoande, and other dignitaries.
