Jeminay: The Jeminay Port in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has recorded 100,000 cross-border passenger trips this year, marking a 10-year record high, local officials announced on Friday. The significant increase in passenger traffic reflects the port’s growing importance as a key transit route between China and Kazakhstan.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the port has experienced a 250 percent surge in border entries and exits this year, with a single-day peak reaching over 700 passengers. This remarkable growth is attributed to the port’s efficient customs procedures, making it an attractive option for cross-border travelers.

Jeminay Port serves as a crucial border crossing point between China and Kazakhstan, offering streamlined customs clearance processes. The port’s popularity has been bolstered by the Belt and Road Initiative and the expansion of China’s visa-free entry list, facilitating easier travel across borders.

The port’s dedication to providing quality and efficient ser
vices is evident. “We continue to optimize and address the challenges in customs clearance to propel high-level opening-up,” stated Yao Lin, a division head at the border inspection station. This commitment to improvement underscores Jeminay Port’s role in enhancing cross-border connectivity and supporting regional development.
