Xinjiang’s Development and Stability Challenge Western Narratives, Says Egyptian Expert

Urumqi: China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has achieved broad development and sustained stability, debunking Western misinformation stemming from geopolitical rivalry, an Egyptian expert has said. After a recent visit to Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang, to attend a symposium on counter-terrorism, Mostafa Amin, a researcher on Arab and international affairs, observed that Xinjiang enjoys a high level of security, stability, and economic prosperity.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Amin described his visit to Xinjiang as "very special," noting the evident development and progress in the region's infrastructure and overall order. He emphasized the Chinese government's substantial investments across various sectors, highlighting numerous projects and green spaces that reflect a commitment to residents' health and the ecosystem.

Amin reported moving freely during his visit, touring Urumqi independently, and visiting several mosques, including one with a 300-year history. He noted the freedom and safety citizens enjoy, countering Western allegations of persecution in Xinjiang as false narratives driven by geopolitical motives.

He attributed such accusations to a broader strategy linked to U.S. hegemony and rivalry with China, suggesting that Washington uses these claims as a pressure tool against China. Amin praised China's leadership for its pivotal role in Xinjiang's transformation, highlighting President Xi Jinping's special attention to the region, resulting in significant progress and high autonomy.

The Egyptian expert underscored that the leadership's comprehensive strategy has led to stability and security, effectively eradicating terrorism routes within the region. He concluded that Xinjiang now enjoys substantial cultural freedom and prosperity, challenging Western narratives about the area.
