BEIJING: Xinhua News Agency has announced plans to enhance its cooperation with Sri Lankan media and think tanks, with the aim of fostering stronger bilateral relations. This development was confirmed by Xinhua President Fu Hua during a meeting with Majintha Jayesinghe, the Sri Lankan ambassador to China.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the meeting, which took place in Beijing, saw both parties express their commitment to boosting communication and cooperation through multilateral platforms such as the World Media Summit. The focus is on narrating the stories of China-Sri Lanka friendship and cooperation, as well as fortifying the bonds between the two nations, especially among the youth.
Fu Hua emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting a deeper understanding and collaboration between the two countries. The engagement is expected to leverage media and think tanks as crucial channels for cultural and informational exchange, which is anticipated to positively impact the bilateral ties between China and Sri Lanka.
