Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Joseph Aoun on assuming the presidency of Lebanon. Xi highlighted the traditional friendship between China and Lebanon, emphasizing the strong development of bilateral relations in recent years. This development has been characterized by enhanced political mutual trust and a deepened relationship between the peoples of the two nations.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Xi expressed his commitment to further advancing China-Lebanon ties. He indicated his readiness to collaborate with President Aoun to promote friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, aiming to bring greater benefits to both countries. Xi affirmed China's steadfast support for Lebanon in its efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also pledged continued assistance from China to aid Lebanon's economic development and improve the livelihood of its people.
