Written Exams for 2025 Educational Certificates Begin in Namentenga

Namentenga: The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, along with the constituted bodies, officially launched on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Boulsa, the written tests for the 2025 session of the Primary School Certificate (CEP), the First Cycle School Certificate (BEPC), the Professional Studies Certificate (BEP) and the Professional Aptitude Certificate (CAP).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the commencement of the exams saw a total of 1,782 candidates registered for the CEP, with a notable participation of 1,025 girls. This year’s registration numbers show a decline compared to the previous years, with 1,857 candidates in 2024 and 2,414 in 2023. The BEPC exam registered 1,007 students, a decrease from the 1,268 and 1,051 candidates in 2023 and 2024 respectively. For the CAP and BEP exams, there were 204 registrations, slightly down from 206 in 2024 but up from 128 in 2023.

This year also marks a change in candidate locations, as students from Dargo and Boala are now able
to sit their exams in their own localities, while those from Zéguédéguin have been relocated to Boulsa for the exams. Provincial directors in charge of preschool and secondary education, Ouiraogo Bernard Kaboré and Abdoulaye Yarbanga, noted that the number of registered students and the number of relocated composition centers have decreased compared to previous sessions. They reported that educational activities proceeded smoothly throughout 2025, with no disruptions recorded.

During the launch, Adama Conseiga opened the envelope containing the mathematics subject at the Jan Vervoort technical and vocational high school in Boulsa for BEP and CAP candidates, and the essay subject at Boulsa “A” school. Bassouleymane Ouattara, the Secretary General of the province, gave the starting signal for the BEPC exam at the provincial high school on behalf of the High Commissioner.

Mr. Conseiga took the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of education stakeholders in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams. He enco
uraged the candidates by stating, “What you are about to do is no different from what you are used to doing in your classes. Be calm and success will be within reach. Good luck to you.”
