OUAGADOUGOU: The women's cell of the Muslim community in Burkina Faso has urged all citizens to unite in a movement for peace, following a meeting with President Ibrahim Traore. The delegation, representing women from across the Muslim community, expressed their support for the government's efforts in combating terrorism in the region. According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, met with the delegation on Friday. The group, led by spokesperson Hadja Aïcha Kagambega, conveyed their commitment to backing the President's initiatives to restore peace. Kagambega emphasized the role of women in fostering peace within their families and communities, stating, "Women are not on the battlefield; but in our families, they are mobilized, night and day, in prayers so that peace returns to our country." Kagambega further called on those who bear arms against the state to cease their actions, advocating for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. "On behalf of all the wom en of the Muslim community of Burkina Faso," she declared, "We implore the Almighty to enlighten them and bring them back to the right path." The meeting highlighted the importance of collective efforts in addressing the security challenges facing Burkina Faso. The women's delegation expressed satisfaction with their discussions with President Traore, reaffirming their support as mothers, wives, and sisters committed to the nation's stability.
