Oshikoto: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshikoto Region is investigating a case in which a 32-year-old woman with disabilities was allegedly assaulted and raped at Okatunda village in the Okankolo Constituency on Saturday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the 32-year-old woman, who has a speech disability, was on her way home from the local cucashops when she was reportedly attacked. The 19-year-old suspect allegedly assaulted her and then raped her behind the Omulunga Combined School.
'It is alleged that the victim was observed with a swollen face and eyes by her guardian. She pointed out the scene of the incident as well as the house where the suspect resides. The suspect is allegedly a learner at Omulunga Combined School.'
The suspect has been arrested and police investigations continue.
