Oniingo: A 33-year-old woman died after being struck by a government vehicle in the Oshikoto Region, according to local authorities. The incident occurred Saturday evening on the B1 road, with the driver reportedly on official duty for the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to The Namibia News Agency, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) reported that Kristofina Niitembu from Uukwanambwa village was identified as the pedestrian killed in the accident. The collision involved a white Toyota GD6 double cab with government registration traveling from Ondangwa to Omuthiya. The driver was unharmed.
Ekandjo explained that the pedestrian allegedly ran into the road at Oniingo location in Onambeke village when the vehicle struck her. Following the incident, Niitembu’s body was transported to the Omuthiya Police Mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Her family has been notified.

re, Water and Land Reform, remained at the scene and was reportedly uninjured. Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
