Woman Dies During Church Service; Separate Suicide Incident Reported

Kavango west: A 46-year-old woman, Kazana Maria Musenge, collapsed and died during a church service at Mupini No. 2 village in the Kavango West Region.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the incident occurred Sunday morning at around 11h00 during a regular church gathering. Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga of the Namibian Police in Kavango West reported that Musenge suddenly collapsed during the service and was quickly transported to a hospital. Unfortunately, she was declared dead upon arrival at the medical facility.

The deceased's body has been moved to the Rundu State mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death. The authorities have confirmed that Musenge's next of kin have been notified.

In a separate incident on the same day, a 36-year-old man, Joseph Limwanya Mwengo, was found dead by suicide through hanging at Gcamade village. Muronga stated that Mwengo's body was discovered at approximately 06h57, suspended from a tree.

Like Musenge, Mwengo's remains have also been taken to the Rundu State mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The police have informed Mwengo's next of kin and noted that no suicide note was found at the scene. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
