WALVIS BAY: A 26-year-old woman has been taken into custody following allegations of raping a toddler in the Kuisebmond area of Walvis Bay. The Namibian Police Force reported that the incident is believed to have occurred last Friday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the child’s mother had dropped her 13-month-old daughter off at the nanny’s residence at approximately 06:00 a.m. before heading to work. Upon her return around 5:30 p.m., she was informed by the nanny that the child was bleeding from her genitals. The nanny claimed she was with the child all day and no one else had access to the toddler.
Medical examinations revealed severe genital injuries, leading to suspicions that the suspect may have sexually assaulted the toddler and mistreated her while she was in her care, as stated in the crime report. Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
