services have extended loans exceeding N.dollars 730 million. Amunkete made this announcement on Thursday at Statehouse during the presentation of a special commemorative stamp featuring President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, marking her as Namibia’s fifth president.
According to Namibia Press Agency:ccording to Namibia Press Agency, Amunkete highlighted that more than 250,000 Namibians hold accounts with NamPost across its 51 locations nationwide. In several rural areas, NamPost serves as the sole financial service provider, demonstrating its integral role in these communities. Amunkete also noted that over 150,000 Namibians benefit from insurance facilitated by NamPost.

“As an arm of the government, we can do more if fully deployed with infrastructure to benefit the community in which we operate. This enablement could allow NamPost to give full banking services benefits targeting the low and older members of our market,” Amunkete stated. He also presented the commemorative stamp of the fourth President Nangolo Mbumba, emphasizing that these stamps not only honor presidents but also contribute to Namibia’s history in a unique format. NamPost celebrates Namibia’s leadership with stamps featuring all past and present Presidents.

twah remarked on the enduring importance of postal communication, which has evolved to encompass various financial operations. She noted that NamPost is particularly convenient for the elderly in financial management and is internationally recognized as a central hub for global mail. “The post office remains historically the most important connector in the world now and possibly in the future,” she stated.

The President further praised NamPost’s commemorative stamps, underscoring their role in reminding Namibians and the world of Namibia’s democratic process, including peaceful presidential transitions, even during challenging times such as the passing of the third President Hage Geingob. “As a nation, we understand that the stamp of our fourth president is coming this time because we know he came during a difficult and dramatic situation,” she added.
