Whagnion Gold Operation Contributes Over 3 Million CFA Francs to National Solidarity Campaign in Niankorodougou

Niankorodougou: The mining company Whagnion Gold Operation and its staff have donated over 3,250,000 CFA francs to the national solidarity campaign ''Dªmª Sira'' in Niankorodougou, a rural commune in the province of L©raba.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this donation by Whagnion Gold Operation (WGO) and its staff comes in response to the national campaign "Dªmª Sira", focusing on solidarity, dignity, and shared responsibility. The campaign was initiated by the Ministry in charge of Humanitarian Action and launched by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo.

The contribution includes 3,250,000 CFA francs, 30 bags of 100kg of corn, and 25 bags of 25kg of rice. The donation was presented to Salif Nadembeega, President of the special delegation of the commune of Niankorodougou, in the presence of the village chief, Yaya Ouattara. The staff voluntarily contributed 1,250,000 CFA francs, alongside bags of rice and corn, while the company itself donated 2,000,000 CFA francs.

Bebouaba Lompo, director of WGO's environmental and social governance department, emphasized the importance of this solidarity effort to support vulnerable people affected by the security situation in Burkina Faso. He encouraged all Burkinabe citizens to participate in this national solidarity initiative.

Salif Nadembeega assured that the donation would reach its intended beneficiaries and thanked WGO staff for their support. The national solidarity campaign ''Dªmª Sira'' was launched on November 14, 2025, in Ouagadougou.
