West Coast Adventure Bikers Promote Tourism and Civic Engagement in L©o

Ouagadougou: The West Coast Adventure (WCA) motorcycle club organized the 6th edition of its national ride, "Discovering the Sissili," from June 27 to 28, 2026. This initiative, which brought together about forty motorcyclists, aims to promote domestic tourism, support community development, and raise awareness about road safety.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event launched from Ouagadougou aligns with the vision of promoting domestic tourism championed by the authorities of the Popular Progressive Revolution. Adama Ou©draogo, president of the WCA club, highlighted the club's goal to develop local tourism and connect with local communities while showcasing national heritage. He emphasized that their presence helps to boost the local economy, particularly in the hotel and restaurant sectors.

Upon their arrival on Saturday, June 27, the club members visited the High Commissioner of the Sissili province, T©wend© Isaac Sia, and donated a ton of cement to the "Faso Mªbo" community initiative. The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude for this citizen initiative and noted the commendable focus on the Faso Mªbo initiative.

In addition to their charitable work, the WCA prioritizes road safety. Equipped with helmets and regulatory protective gear, the motorcyclists plan to conduct local awareness campaigns. Adama Ou©draogo announced plans to engage with market users to raise awareness about the highway code, recalling a similar campaign at the Provincial High School the previous year.

Saturday also included a cultural immersion at the "Tikeli" Auto-moto museum in L©o, a site under construction benefiting from the club's partnership with Faso Tourisme to increase its visibility.

On Sunday, June 28, the delegation met with His Majesty Lio-Pio Dan-Zw¨, chief of the canton of L©o. The traditional authority praised the motorcyclists' commitment and prayed for their protection in Burkina Faso and beyond. He also expressed wishes for peace for the country, urging divine protection for the authorities, including Head of State Ibrahim Traor©.

The 6th edition concluded with an eco-citizen action marked by a tree planting at the Dr Sedogo clinic in L©o, highlighting the WCA club's commitment to environmental protection and the well-being of the people of Sissili.
