Wend-Manegda Private College Celebrates Exceptional Academic Results with Thanksgiving Mass

OUAGADOUGOU - Wend-Manegda Private College held a thanksgiving mass on Saturday to express gratitude for its students' outstanding academic performances, marking the close of the 2023-2024 school year in Ouagadougou. The event celebrated high achievement rates in the BEPC and Baccalaureate exams.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Director of Wend-Manegda Private College, the thanksgiving mass followed the announcement of the school's exam results, which included a 99.15% pass rate in the BEPC, 100% in the Bac series A, and 97.87% in the Bac series D. The mass was attended by the school's management, parents, and students, and served as a moment to reflect on the blessings of the year. "At the academic level, the discipline, courage, and self-sacrifice of students are the conditions for good success. Teachers must also be diligent and cultured to meet the different expectations of students," Brother Sawadogo stated.

The school presented 118 candidates for the BEPC, out of whom 117 passed, while the Bac series D saw 46 of 47 candidates succeed. All 25 candidates in the Bac series A were admitted, achieving a perfect success rate. The theme for the year, 'Following the example of the Holy Family, I am committed to more discipline for participatory living together,' underscored the school's emphasis on disciplined and communal education.

The mass also served as a farewell for Honorine Sonsanné, a French teacher retiring after 23 years of service at the college. Brother Sawadogo praised Ms. Sonsanné for her dedication, noting, "We give thanks to God who has accompanied us throughout the year, for the success of our students and for our experienced colleague in education, Ms. Sonsanné, who is retiring."

Father Jean Doamba, who presided over the Eucharistic celebration, lauded the students and management for their efforts and achievements. "A good education is still possible in our regions despite the difficulties. I encourage the students to persevere because it is only a stage in their life," Father Doamba remarked.

The Wend-Manegda Private College, operated by the Brothers of the Holy Family for over 40 years, continues to uphold a tradition of quality education and high academic standards in Burkina Faso.
