POLOKWANE – In a swift response to information received, the Waterberg District Flying Squad apprehended a male suspect on Wednesday, 1st November 2023, for the alleged theft of a water tanker truck. The police unit was conducting crime prevention duties when they were tipped off about a stolen white Tata truck, last seen in the Lephalale policing area and believed to be en route to Mokopane along the N11 public road.

According to South Africa Police Service, Upon receiving the information, the members of the Flying Squad promptly acted and managed to intercept the water tanker truck matching the description. When questioned about the legal ownership of the truck, the driver failed to provide a satisfactory response, leading to his immediate arrest on charges of being in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

The age of the suspect is yet to be determined, but he is expected to appear before the Mokopane Magistrate Court soon to face the charges laid against him. Meanwhile, police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
